Enver Izmaylov was born in 1955 in the city of Fergana, Uzbekistan, where his family was forcibly exiled from Crimea during the Soviet regime’s deportation of the Crimean Tatars in 1944. Growing up in this challenging environment, he developed a connection to his cultural roots, which later became a cornerstone of his musical identity. His compositions are a unique blend of jazz, ethnic Crimean Tatar motifs, and classical influences, creating a sound that is both innovative and deeply evocative.
In recognition of his exceptional contribution to music and culture, Enver Izmaylov was awarded the prestigious title of People's Artist of Ukraine in 2009. One night in 1944, under Stalin's orders, the entire Tatar population of Crimea was deported to the eastern part of the USSR. Among them was the Izmaylov family... This is why Enver was born in Fergana, Uzbekistan.
